IT consultation services vendor Wipro has formed an alliance with Axway, a subsidiary of the Sopra Group.

The initiative is to jointly offer SaaS-based (Software as a Service) B2B integration, B2Bi, and EDI (electronic data interchange) and various IT managed services.

Overall, Wipro will host Axway's software and manage the B2B and EDI operations of its clients in an effort to enable companies to outsource non-core business functions and streamline business processes.

Srini Pallia, global head and v.p. of business technology services at Wipro, said "combining Axway's proven Synchrony framework with our global experience in IT and EDI implementation creates a winning team to offer customers a SaaS-enabled B2B solution that delivers faster time to market and reduces operational costs."

Wipro and Axway said the B2B services won't require any upfront software license and upgrade fees, and will be priced on a pay-as-you-go basis.
