About 1,250 public tenders are held simultaneously in the B2B Energo, the eTrading system used by the
companies of RAO "UES of Russia" in their various procurement activities in the electricity-producing industry.
Only two years ago, the number of such tenders was less than 300 in Russia's B2B segment of the market.
Today's record high number of public tenders which are the most transparent type of procurement procedures
are the result of efforts made by RAO's UES management to increase transparency of the Company's procurements.
This is especially important, because the annual volume of procurement is in excess of RUB 300 billion annually.
Moreover, it is expected that the overall value of equipment, services and B2B technology will grow significantly
in 2009 and 2010.
This is due to large-scale investment programs launched by RAO "UES of Russia". The B2B Energo system helps
to avoid price fixing and ensure fair competition on the market for goods, services and technologies for the
electricity industry.
The B2B Energo's overall trading volume has exceeded RUB 68.3 billion in 2006. Since the system launch, over
7,782 public tenders and B2B auctions have been performed on the eTrading portal, with more than 21,000 bids
and offers submitted through the system.
The B2B portal has 8,580 participants from 36 countries. Among them are RAO UES entities, power equipment
manufacturers, energy equipment installation providers, construction and installation entities, R&D institutions
of the electric power sector and foreign integrators which facilitate entry of international power engineering
companies into the Russian market.
The Investment Program of RAO "UES of Russia" was approved by the Management Board on Jan. 29, 2007.
Overall, the total amount of investment capital to be provided for the programs will total RUB 3.1 trillion.
Under the Investment Program, 34.2 GW of generating capacity will be brought on line.
The Program also provides for large-scale construction of new and major repair of the existing grid facilities
and the central dispatching system.
